The Bride and Groom

I finally made it through all of the pictures from my trip. Since I don't think I've really shared any of the Bride and Groom yet, I'd thought I would give you a few.

I might do a couple more posts with some pictures of my trip and from the wedding but after that I promise to get back to my regular and scheduled posting. Which I'm not really sure what that is since I'm not very regular or scheduled. I'm usually pretty random all around, so I promise to get back to my random posts and random schedule.

As you can tell from the photos, Carrie and Eddy were a lot of fun and very photogenic! They made it very easy on me as the photographer.

A few weeks ago I shot these photos of my nieces and nephews. I am just now finally getting to editing them. Thought I would share a few. 

First Day of School

Since the kids have been in school for over 2 weeks now, I thought it might be time to post a couple pictures.

Alex, Amanda and Joshua all started 1st grade this year. Isaac started Kindergarten.

They are all enjoying school.

I wish I could say that I have been enjoying myself but unfortunately I have been too busy. Hopefully soon things will settle down but I doubt it.

How We Have Fun

First we take a bunch of clothes, food, and necessities and pack them in the back of our vehicles and into this tiny little box that we pull behind my husband's truck.

We then head to the woods (better known as the Indiana Dunes). We take all of the stuff out of the box and pop up the box. This box now becomes our home for the next few days. We try to shove everything back in as organized as we possibly can and then 6 of us try to sleep in there as well. All of this is done in the extreme heat.

Because of the heat I am forced to take my first shower of the weekend, which causes me to go against my rule of 1 shower per camping trip. I just couldn't make it all the way til Monday, so I had to take a second one on Sunday morning.

After doing all this, we enjoy sitting around talking with friends while getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.

The next day we head to the beach so that we can swim in the water, eat food that ends up getting covered in sand, and collect sand in our shoes and bathing suits so that we can bring it back to our little home in the woods and add it to our collection of stuff shoved in there.

We then wait for the storm to roll in. When it comes, we jump in the tiny little box and watch a movie on the computer which we cannot hear because of the rain pounding on the roof.

The second round of rain we decide to venture out and sit under someone else's canopy and chat while small gangs of children go camper hopping.

On Sunday we add a puking child to the mix.

Because of the bad weather, Sunday is also the first day that we get to enjoy a campfire. It also gets really windy and between the sick child and our canopy making tons of noise in the wind, we get very little sleep.

Monday we pack up and head home so that I can start on the 50 loads of laundry that we have accumulated.

Despite all of this, we actually did have fun.

We got to spend time with friends that we don't see often enough. We ate lots of good food. The kids had a blast. And I (along with my partner- who carried us most the way) won the bean bag tournament. My husband and my partners wife were also a team & they were defeated by us. Victory is sweet!

Also, I have no pictures of this eventful trip. Sorry.

Hope everyone had a fun Labor Day Weekend and I can't wait for our annual Labor Day Camping Trip next year.

Bugs!!!!

Probably the worst thing about my trip to the DR would have to be the bugs. I am not a fan of bugs, especially not big ones. It's hard to tell but this bug is very large.

But just imagine if one of these bugs got on your clothing.

That is what happened to my aunt. Her sweet daughter Ellie picked up the bug and threw it on her mom's dress.

Kudos to the person who thought to pick up the camera and document this occasion. I just wish this same person would have gotten my aunt's reaction.

There was a lot of screaming and dancing around. Thankfully she found the bug and got it off her dress just in time. She was just about ready to rip her dress off.

I am also not a fan of biting bugs. This next picture is a of my swollen ankles. I had a reaction to some Sand Flea bites. My ankles were swollen and in pain for a week. They are no longer swollen but my ankles are still a little tender when you touch them.

Every time I walked out the door I saw this beautiful, breathtaking view of God's creation.

Sisters and Parasols

I am slowly but surely getting through all my pictures. I am now at 213 of 442 and then I get to move onto the 4 other memory cards that I have. These are my three cousins Heather, Carrie, and Ellie. We had a lot of fun with the parasols.
