Give me your Opinion - Cabinet Color

We are having a cabinet built in our kitchen for shoes, coats, hats, backpacks, and whatever else I can pack in. 

My hope was to stain the cabinet to match the rest of our cabinets but we are having a little trouble matching the stain. So I need your opinion.

Should we stain it, even if the color is a little off or should I go a completely different color? If a different color.....what color?  We have white trim and since this will be housing shoes and will take a lot of abuse I'd like to stay away from white. See below for our current cabinet color. Also, the cabinet is on the opposite end of the kitchen.
