Preparing

The tree is up, the ornaments are hung.

Part of my Christmas village even came out of hiding this year.

Candy canes are a must. A great reminder of Jesus our shepherd.

The stockings are hung and I love getting the mail this time of year and
receiving Christmas greetings from friends and family.

The presents have been bought (not all wrapped yet). Cookies have been baked.

As we prepare the house for this special holiday, we also prepare our hearts by reading the Advent book as a family each night, singing songs of praise, and praying for our friends and family.

I am reminded by the lights of the One True Light.

I am reminded of the hope that the birth of this little baby brings to our life.

As we prepare the gifts to be opened soon, I am reminded of the only gift that matters.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9:6
